The best thing we can do is continue to run our business and help where we can. Most of our snowbirds left early and so we are busy taking care of their homes, cleaning out food (and donating it to the needy) or tying up loose ends when they left so quickly.
Thankfully Executive Errands® is considered an essential service and most of the time we are working alone so we are not directly interfacing with anyone (and thus not risking exposure to, or transmission of, the virus).
Part of me feels like the whole world has gone mad and the other part is grateful we (as a country) are able to take action of this magnitude in order to reduce the risk of spreading this virus.
The most important thing we can advocate for is kindness, patience and compassion for others. The longer this goes on, the scarier it is and the more panic and anxiety people endure.
Please try to remember we're all in this together and that none of us know how someone else is processing all this chaos. Therefore be kind. Be thoughtful. Above all else, be patient.
Try not to buy 25 gallons of milk (won't that spoil before it all gets used?) or a cartful of eggs. Leave something for someone else or better yet, share with someone else.
I was standing in line at Albertson's just a week ago and saw the lady in front of me had three dozen eggs. I said wistfully 'awww you got eggs' and she turned around and handed me a dozen.
No comment, no nothing. Just raw kindness. What a great reminder to be nice to one another! We have tried to pay this forward as much as possible.
Just yesterday, we did a shopping run for a client but paper towels were nowhere to be found. One of my employees has some extra so she asked 'is it ok to just give her a roll?' Of course and thank you!
So yes, we are open and yes, we are here for you. And we'd like to make one more offer to help in this pandemic.
If you or someone you know could benefit from our services, you may purchase a gift certificate and we'll give you six (6) hours for the price of four (4) from now until the 1st of May.
That's $300 for six (6) hours of concierge services -- errands, shopping, laundry support, etc*
And if you need someone to care for your home while you're away, we will extend the six (6) hours for four (4) to the setup of any new account from March 24 through May 1st.
As a nation, we are strong. We are capable. We can survive this pandemic and come out the better for it. We are open and we are here to help.
Please be safe. Wash your hands!
