November 2023

Gobble, gobble! November marks the time of year for thanks and gratitude and OPL is grateful to all our Oakland residents for supporting their home library. This is also the month known for a famous bird, but we won't be talking too much turkey because Jim Wright will be at the library to discuss his new book about owls and how you can attract owls to your yard. This is also our 8th annual year for Truck Day featuring Oakland's finest fleet of emergency vehicles.

Of course I have to thank our very dedicated New Friends of the Oakland Public Library who help sponsor many of our amazing programs and new technology initiatives. You can meet our New Friends group at our Holiday Craft Fair on November 4th.

A big thank you to our service men and women and of course Happy Thanksgiving to all.
