It’s always interesting to see what other people are reading - which makes this one of our favorite book lists to share each year! Find out which fiction and nonfiction titles were the most popular with OPL patrons in 2021.

The wonders of nature leap off the page in Rick Chrustowski’s vibrant picture books for kids. Bring your whole family to meet him and learn how he dreams up stories and illustrations that capture the imagination.
We’ve closed the book on 2021 and are looking forward to new experiences and new reads! Whatever your goals are for 2022 and beyond, the library has information and research professionals available to help you further your dreams. Stop by the Information Services Desk on the Second Floor, call (920) 236-5205, email reference@oshkoshpubliclibrary.org or use the Librarian Chat on our website to ask questions or request more information on a topic of interest.
Here are a few things happening this month.
Stories by Starlight is an evening storytime experience for kids up to age 8 and their grownups. Request a High Flyers Early Literacy Program Kit to keep the littles busy at home or try out a Wonderlab program and explore the principles of STEAM with hands-on activities. Adults can create a darling clothespin trivet with the free supplies included in the Adult DIY: Take Home Kit.
What else is happening this month? Pick up our January & February Events Calendar at the library or downloada copy to your device.
We hope to see you soon.
Thank you for filling the Mitten Tree
Thanks to everyone who donated to the library’s Mitten Tree. Because of you, more than 100 scarves, hats and pairs of mittens were delivered to The Salvation Army Oshkosh in December for distribution to local kids.
In February, the OverDrive App will be removed from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Microsoft Windows Store. Current OverDrive users can continue using the app. If you’re a new user searching for OverDrive, you’ll be directed to the Libby App – which has the same collection of titles as OverDrive. The library’s Information Services staff are available to help answer questions about the transition to Libby. Call (920) 236-5205 or Book-A-Librarian for personalized service.
If you need free legal assistance on a civil legal issue, Winnebago Free Legal Assistance Clinic has volunteer attorneys and paralegals who are available to meet with you in the library’s Lower Level every 3rd Tuesday of the month (except Feb. 22) from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Certain rules and restrictions apply.
