#OPSProud Spotlight - Howard Kennedy Science on a Sphere
Howard Kennedy Elementary students Hector Rosales-Peak and Juliana Figures were honored for being the first students to present the Science on a Sphere in Nebraska. They presented at the Metro North Express. The program partnered with Howard Kennedy Elementary and King Science and Technology Magnet Middle School. Hector answered questions from board members about the project and talked about making a difference in the future. (Juliana was unable to attend.)

Board of Education Action Items
Board Officers Elected
The Board of Education elected Marque A. Snow as the Board of Education President and Dr. Shavonna L. Holman as Board of Education Vice President. They will serve in these roles for the 2020 calendar year.
Important Information for OPS Staff
CHI Health and Omaha Public Schools partner to honor teachers across the OPS district
CHI Health wants nominations of Omaha Public Schools teachers changing the lives of students. Each month, they’ll surprise a Top Teacher nominee with a treat basket for the teacher's lounge and a personal gift card. CHI will draw winners on the last Friday of the month. CHI Health will select winners from three different grade levels across the district.

Next OPS Board of Education Meeting
The next regularly scheduled Board Meeting will take place on Jan. 23. It is tentatively scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
