ORH is thankful to have Chris McAviney directing our disaster relief responses. Chris is a firefighter and trained FEMA disaster relief responder. This is his report about the efforts of ORH in the New England flooding.
"I have made arrangements with Grace Baptist Church of Highland Falls, NY and Pastor Snavely to receive a truck of food. The truck should arrive on Saturday from Nehemiah's Network. Recommendation forms are being returned so ORH can send relief to church and community members.
Contact has been made with a church in Hardwick, VT. I will follow up with Tom Bellavance a leader in the Church. Tom and his wife are willing to help ORH reach the people of Hardwick.
I have made additional phone calls to find churches, but I still need help to find more churches willing to help or that are in need. I will take a van into New York and Vermont to survey and drop generators."
ORH thanks all the churches that have donated food to ORH and Nehemiah's Network for distribution. In particular, ORH thanks Friendship Baptist Church of Raleigh NC for the 5000 lbs. of food they sent by conducting a "Joseph Project" in their community.
