Attention Investigators

ORSP has implemented the Kuali Conflict of Interest module to allow for faculty disclosures of all Outside Activities/Foreign Engagements. The Kuali COI, a secure, user-friendly, web-based system will allow for electronic disclosures and coordination of the review/decision making to ensure compliance for potential risks. Per the UMass Policy on Consulting and Outside Activities (Trustee Policy T96-047)

This system allows researchers to submit and update their required annual research-related COI disclosures and disclose any new financial, Outside Activities, or foreign engagements as they occur. After your first submission, you will receive automated email reminders from Kuali 30 days prior to your disclosure expiration date, based on your last date of approval.

Any key personnel responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research or externally funded programs– must complete an annual research-related disclosure form via Kuali.

Effective immediately, the process for disclosing Outside Activities within the Kuali COI Module is as follows:

The Kuali Conflict of Interest (COI) module within Kuali eRA will be required to be used by all faculty/research staff performing human subjects and/or externally funded research to disclose all OA’s.

Once completed, an Outside Activities approval request is routed electronically to the corresponding
Chair, Dean, Department Head, or Provost as appropriate.

Supervisors and ORSP will use Kuali COI to receive, review and communicate issues.

To submit your Disclosures via Kuali, visit the ORSP Kuali page here: at https://www.umb.edu/orsp/kuali_research
