This session provides participants with advanced tools and techniques for facilitation, whether for use in meetings or trainings. Through small group work, we will use situations of typical facilitation challenges. The workshop guides participants to review and select appropriate tools and games. It also introduces and incorporates a wide range of tools and games. The training actively involves participants in presenting, using role plays and the opportunity for feedback. Participants will leave this training with skills on how to actively listen, ways to build group rapport, and effective questioning techniques for group dialogue.

Laura Larson-Gibbons has worked in the field of substance abuse prevention for over 25 years, most of which was spent leading the Positive Youth Development Substance Abuse Prevention Department at Kenneth Young Center.
For the past 14 years Laura has held a lead role on the Operation Snowball Coordination Team for High School District 211. Currently, Laura is the owner and lead trainer for Insight Leadership Consulting.

WHY IS YOUTH MHFA IMPORTANT?
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
This eight-hour training gives
adults who work with youth
the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to adolescents (ages 12-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
