JAZZ WORSHIP
Thursday, June 30th, 6:00 p.m. in the Gordon Chapel or at oldsouth.org/jazz
Join us to hear Interim Senior Minister Rick Spalding preach on the theme of longing.  Rick will lead us into some of the ways that longing is intrinsic to faith - and also to a more just society. Guitarist John Baboian joins Zoë, Doug, and Willie to provide musical support. And if you haven’t been to Jazz recently, come check out the most recent innovations in our practice! We start preludes a few minutes before 6:00 pm in Gordon Chapel.
PASTORAL TRANSITION: PRAY FOR GOD'S GUIDANCE
PRAYER FOR THE PASTORAL TRANSITION
For over three centuries, the people of Old South Church in Boston have been led by the Holy Spirit to call twenty faithful Senior Ministers. Now, we continue to discern God’s will and future, as we search for the twenty-first Senior Minister of this ship of faith.

PRAYER FOR GOD'S GUIDANCE AND STILL-SPEAKING VOICE
Eternal God, Ancient of Days: you have watched over this congregation through more than three centuries of tumult and progress; you have guided us through the making of a new nation, through bloody wars, economic crises and struggles for civil and human rights; you have comforted us through storms and illness, and mentored and challenged us at times of great national decision. We give you thanks for forebears whose lives have been true, lovely and brave, and whose stories we tell, whose memories we cherish, whose example remains the plumb line by which our lives are measured.

Holy One, God of our mothers and fathers, in this time of momentous decision and discernment, keep our ears tuned to your stillspeaking voice, our hearts open to your tip-toes entrance, our souls quickened by your Holy Spirit, our discipleship true to the way and cause of Christ. Enable us to so hear your voice, to so see in our minds’ eyes your vision and will for us, that we may arise with courage and conviction, affirming with the prophets of old “Your will, O God, is our dearest desire. We, your people, are at your divine disposal. Here we are! Send us!” Amen.
HIGHLIGHTED NEWS & EVENTS
EXPLORE SATURDAY HOSTING
Informational meeting and light lunch
Sunday, July 3rd,12:30 p.m., 2nd floor
RSVP to Liz Morgan by Friday, July 1st.
Who knows where Old South’s owl lives?
Our little owl is one of the sights that delights visitors from all over the world. Especially during summer months, thousands of people step into our sanctuary and are greeted on Saturdays by an Old South host. Any member can direct visitors to the time line of Old South’s history, one of our informative brochures, new self-guide—or to our little owl. Hosts greet visitors on Saturdays between Easter and Thanksgiving in 2 1/2 hour shifts, and the very rewarding experience requires only an interest in people and a love of Old South. Please join hosts, docents, & others who are considering this ministry at a meeting, orientation, and light lunch at 12:30. You will have an opportunity to meet and talk with other host and docents and build your confidence in sharing what you know about Old South with visitors By the way, you can find the owl tucked into the engaged column near the stairs leading to the south balcony. Her nest is a short flight across the nave in the opposing column.
WEBSITE ACCESSIBLITY UPDATED
Coming to you with some exciting news - we just updated oldsouth.org with some MAJOR accessibility improvements. Please visit our website and click on the icon in the lower right corner that is a blue circle with a person in the middle. From there, you can play around with all kinds of settings, from enlarging the text to changing the colors to highlighting each section as your eyes move down the page. If you toggle many settings on and off and you're not happy with how the page is looking, you can scroll to the top of the accessibility options window and click "Reset Settings" in the top left corner. You can also read more about these new features by clicking here. Making our church as accessible as possible for all people is of utmost importance, and we are excited about this new step. We hope it's a helpful one!
UKRAINE AID UPDATE
Through the generosity of Old South’s members and friends, we have contributed over $37K to help 900 Ukrainian Refugees through 4 churches in the Krakow area.

THROUGH THE BIBLE

Join us as we journey at a reflective and thorough pace through the Hebrew Bible. We’re currently reading through Psalms. For more information email Howard Cha-Young Kim.
GREEN TIP: USE A CLOTH PRODUCE BAG
Smaller cloth bags can serve multiple purposes at a grocery store or farmers market. Use them for fruits, veggies, bulk products, bread, etc. Ditch those flimsy plastic bags in the produce department and bring your own. These can be purchased, easily sewn from scrap fabric, or you can use something already around your house like an extra pillowcase! Click here to take on this Climate Commitment and learn more.
