Dear OSEIA members,
I
'm thrilled to join OSEIA as your Executive Director. I've been working in public policy and advocacy for almost 20 years in Oregon, including the last six advocating for clean energy policies as Oregon Environmental Council's Legislative Director. We have an exciting legislative session coming up and I'm ready to get to work and secure policies to advance solar in Oregon. I come to OSEIA with relationships with legislators, policy knowledge and the strategy know-how to get bills passed.
I've also been an executive director at a similar sized organization. It was at that position I developed my nerdy love of budgeting and a passion for fundraising. You can't focus on the mission of your organization if you have to worry about finances, so in my first year I'll be focused on securing the books and meeting our fundraising goals.
I am excited to get to know OSEIA's members - please feel free to reach out to me anytime at
angela[at]oseia[dot]org or at my cell, 503-867-3378. You'll be hearing from me more in the upcoming months as we start the Oregon legislative session but until then, we at OSEIA wish you Happy Holidays and success in 2019.
Sincerely,
Angela Crowley-Koch
Executive Director
Oregon Solar Energy Industry Association (OSEIA)
Angela Crowley-Koch has spent the last two decades in public policy and advocacy. Previously the Legislative Director at Oregon Environmental Council, her work was instrumental in passing the Toxic-Free Kids Act, renewing the Clean Fuels Program and getting coal out of Oregon's electricity mix, among other bills. She worked for Senator Jeff Merkley as part of his Blue Wave Project in 2018, as a Legislative Assistant in D.C., and as the call room manager on his 2008 campaign. While in D.C. she negotiated policy for Oregon in the the Food Safety Modernization Act and the MAP-21 transportation package, including closing a loophole in the Buy America rules, among other policies. Angela moved to Portland from the Chicago area in 2000 and now lives in North Portland with her German Shepherd Neko.
