The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced a new Emergency Temporary Standard applying to employers with 100 or more employees.
The OSHA ETS establishes binding employer requirements to protect unvaccinated employees and to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission in the workplace.
The OSHA ETS requires covered employees to develop/implement/enforce a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy (with exceptions) or weekly testing of unvaccinated employees.
This OSHA ETS takes effect immediately upon publication in the Federal Register and preempts state or local requirements on bans or limitations on employer requirements for employee vaccinations, face coverings or COVID testing.
