June is Trench Safety Month
|
June has been designated Trench Safety Month, and OSHA is taking this opportunity to emphasize that reducing trenching and excavation hazards is a top priority. Trench collapses, or cave-ins, pose the greatest risk to workers' lives.
These five key trench safety tips will help keep your workers safe:

OSHA is promoting the 2022 Trench Safety Stand Down, sponsored by the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA), to help reinforce its National Emphasis Program on Trenching & Excavation. During the Trench Safety Stand Down, which takes place the week of June 20 - 24, 2022, OSHA encourages employers to talk to their workers about trenching and excavation hazards and emphasize the importance of employee safety when working underground or in and around trenches.
