Good news! The OSHA Training Institute Education Center is offering Outreach Trainer update/renewal classes via Zoom. Trainers can now save travel time and hotel expenses. I took my own update/renewal class recently via Zoom, and it was a good experience.
OSHA is allowing us to renew even if our cards have expired. You will have 90 days to renew your card once we can offer a pre-Covid experience in an in-person class setting. Since in-person classes are very limited, you can continue to offer OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour training even if your trainer card has expired. It’s important that you do your best to renew, even with this generous exception, as it will keep you current and updated.
Just to clarify, let’s say we start offering pre-Covid experience in-person classes on November 1 (this is hypothetical). You would have 90 days from November 1 in which to renew your card. So, even though this is good news, you could find it challenging to find a class in that 90-day window that fits your schedule and location.
We strongly encourage you to take a live, online video-based update class via Zoom. It’s convenient and simple! See update class schedule below.
