OSHA Says More Than 10,000 Severe Injuries Reported In 2015
More than 10,000 severe occupational injuries were reported to OSHA during the initial year of the agency's new reporting requirement. On average, 30 work-related severe injuries occurred per day, according to a report released March 17. However, the agency estimates that at least 50 percent of severe injuries are not being reported, and said it is working to create outreach targeted at small- and mid-sized employers who may not be aware of the new requirements. Presenteeism Costs Business 10 Times More than Absenteeism
On average, employees cost businesses the equivalent of three months per year in lost productivity, according to a new GCC Insights report by Global Corporate Challenge. The report found that while employees were absent from work an average of four days per year each, they confessed to being unproductive on the job for 57.5 days each - almost three working months. Businesses wanting to improve productivity should focus on reducing presenteeism, which is the problem of workers' being on the job but, because of illness or other medical conditions, not fully functioning. S/he will also provide technical support to EHS facility staff, R&D, and manufacturing and develop, implement, manage and/or ensure compliance to applicable Environmental, Health and Safety regulatory requirements and assist in compliance with all federal, state and local Environmental, Health and Safety regulations. Manager, Corporate Environmental Engineering

The position will report to the Baxalta EHS Environmental functional lead. Essential Duties and Responsibilities as part of the Corporate EHS team are to provide environmental regulatory expertise and, as such, act as a key point of contact for environmental regulatory questions and interpretations. Areas of expertise may include but not be limited to wastewater, storm water, SPCC, EPCRA, regulated waste, refrigerants, air emissions, DOT/IATA, and hazardous materials management and provide support to facilities on wastewater issues. This support would include completing regulatory compliance evaluations and development of risk mitigation strategies along with assisting in the identification, analysis and remediation of potential non-compliance issues. Also, prepare formal risk assessments of the current and future state of wastewater compliance based on historical wastewater monitoring data, current operations, type of onsite wastewater treatment facilities and performance, future production forecasts, etc. Assist in preparing capital requests to expand and improve existing wastewater treatment facilities. BS degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering is required (other engineering or science-related degrees will be considered on a case by case basis) is required along with The candidate should have 10+ years of facility or corporate experience in this field. An MS degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Must have a solid understanding of EHS regulations and EHS management systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001). Lean/Six Sigma training and experience strongly preferred. Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs. This position is primarily business office based.

Manager II, Environmental Health & Safety

S/he will support audit and assessment programs and other existing enterprise EHS programs and perform facility and program specific audits to identify compliance/requirements gaps and opportunities for improvement, assist facility EHS staff in generation of effective CAPAs and provide guidance and oversight of implementation and closure of CAPA plans. Using Stature Risk Assessment software you will generate and manage HHMP metrics and milestones to provide effective visibility to senior management of the program status, with individual facilities and significant aspects highlighted for attention. B.S. Degree in Environmental, Safety or related field is required along with a minimum 5-7 years' experience. M.S. Degree preferred. Must be experienced in ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 EHS Management Systems. A registered professional certification in the environmental or safety field (i.e. CHMM, CSP, or CIH) is preferred. Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma Methodology also preferred. Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25-50 lbs. 25% travel.

Director, Environmental, Health and Safety

CTE is looking for a qualified individual to provide support related to safety, workers compensation claims, environmental, MSHA, and DOT driver compliance. Essential duties include creating a culture of Continuous Improvement in regards to safety within the company, including creating efficiencies in how we support the customer by utilizing existing technologies and implementing new technologies and process and championing Safety as a "way of how we work" and builds this into the overall culture of the team. You will be responsible for current safety and environmental programs and policies, and lead the implementation of new programs and policies as required for the company and will conduct or coordinate employee training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and the use of safety equipment. Provide or coordinate all OSHA/MSHA required yearly safety training. Prefer candidate with Bachelor's degree, or candidate with 7 to 10 years' experience in the field of safety, environmental, and OSHA compliance. CSP and/or ASP preferred. Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations as related to 29CFR 1910 or 1926. Knowledge of MSHA 30 CFR a plus, but not required.

HSE Director, Environmental

This position, reporting to the Sr. Director of HSE, contributes to the success of Pepsi North America Beverages by providing HSE leadership and direction to enable the implementation of an HSE risk management process, as well as assure regulatory compliance, in the dynamic industry of manufacturing, warehousing, direct store delivery and transportation. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in the area of environmental and can clearly articulate, develop and support implementation of the PNAB Zero Zone HSE Management System; a risk-based, prevention and compliance system. This person is responsible for: creating Performance to Plan (P2P) environmental items for M&W and GTM, interfacing with the HQ Leadership Team, developing and working closely with the Engineering group to deploy the capital plan for environmental, and provide training, consultation and hands-on support to enable functional areas and/or field regions execution of the annual HSE Plan. Furthermore, the Director has responsibility to anticipate environmental issues, creating proactive agenda to assure risk management processes are applied, coach capabilities into the field, analyze data, and develop actionable solutions. This position may also oversee external consultants, work with internal functional areas such as Engineering and Legal, understands the PepsiCo EHS agenda, and interacts with regulatory officials in support of the overall environmental agenda of NAB. This position will also serve as a key point for environmental in development of the Annual Operating Plan. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, Environmental, Safety or related technical discipline is required along with a minimum of 10 years of HSE experience in field environmental function. Post graduate HSE qualifications desirable. CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE desirable.
