The California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board
will hold its monthly meeting on:
March 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM
Pasadena City Hall
100 North Garfield Avenue
Pasadena, CA 91101
The Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board (OSHSB) places the safety of staff, members, and the public at a high priority, and therefore, would like to share information on what the Board is doing to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
As with any virus, especially during the flu season, the California Department of Public Health reminds everyone there are a number of steps individuals can take to protect themselves and those around them:
- Washing hands with soap and water.
- Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
- Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
As an extra precaution, in addition to the regular participation at the Board’s meeting location in Pasadena, Board staff are seeking technical solutions that will allow public monitoring of the meeting from remote locations. While potential solutions are still being explored, this will most likely involve a phone number the public can call to listen in on the meeting, as opposed to arriving in person. Information on this option will be shared as it becomes available. Comments to the Board can always be delivered via email to OSHSB@DIR.CA.GOV.
At The Meeting – March (Pasadena)
Please follow guidance from the California Department of Public Health while attending OSHSB Meetings. OSHSB staff are following the
Pasadena Public Health Department
and in contact with the Pasadena City Hall staff and to determine what actions they are taking to ensure that public areas at City Hall are cleaned regularly, and to request that they make sanitizer dispensers available in their buildings as well.
At The Meeting – April (Oakland)
Please follow guidance from the California Department of Public Health while attending OSHSB Meetings. OSHSB staff are in contact with the Facilities Management at the Oakland meeting location to ensure that public areas are cleaned regularly, and to request that they make sanitizer dispensers available as well. Additional technical solutions for remote participation are being researched for this location.
Should you have any further questions regarding this memorandum, please contact the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board at (916) 274-5721 or OSHSB@DIR.CA.GOV.
