Writing a Data Management Plan?
A data management plan (DMP) is a written statement detailing how you will collect, organize, manage, store, secure, backup, preserve and share your data. Many grant funding agencies and corporate funders now require a data management plan to be incorporated into the grant application process in order to be considered. To learn more about DMP requirements for funding agencies, visit the Funding Guidelines tab.
For questions and considerations meant to guide you in creating a comprehensive data management plan, please see the library page, Developing Your Data Management Plan. For any additional questions or for personal feedback on your DMP draft, please contact the university Data Librarian.

Looking for a sample NSF data management plan? Or one from Alfred P. Sloan Foundation? Go to the DMPTool Templates to see a large list of data management templates for institutions, foundations and federal agencies. Sample data management plans (if available) can also be perused and modified for use in your own grant application.
JUMP into STEM
Encourage your undergraduate and graduate students to apply.
Consider being part of a professor team.
JUMP into STEM is designed to inspire the next generation of building scientists. With diversity at the forefront, JUMP into STEM emphasizes the inclusion of an interdisciplinary mix of majors and students underrepresented in the building science field.

The nationwide competition is open to U.S. undergraduate and graduate students across a variety of majors to help solve the industry’s most pressing issues.

This year’s Challenges focus on developing holistic solutions to address energy justice across the country. Finalists will present solutions during the Final Event at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in January 2022 and compete for a paid summer 2022 internship at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, or the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

Are you a professor in the building science field? JUMP into STEM offers Challenges ready to incorporate into your course, completely designed by a network of professors, national laboratory researchers, and U.S. Department of Energy experts. Visit jumpintostem.org/professors for more information and benefits of participating in the program as a professor.

Check out jumpintostem.org for more information, submission guidance, and reference materials. Challenges close Nov. 12!
