What:
Improvisation for Theater and for Fun with Jim Brownold is a class designed to help experienced actors, new actors and non-actors trust their instinctive creativity through a fun and inventive avenue of expression. Scene and Monologue Study, a deeper study of the craft of acting designed for intermediate and advanced actors, is taught by actor and director Bob Rogerson. Rogerson, who holds a master’s degree in classical acting, has taught at university and professional levels for many years. His popular classes offer tailored individuated instruction, addressing specific issues based on each actor’s strengths and needs.

Alexis Cole’s Canary in Combat Boots: Memoir of a Jazz Diva in the Army

The Westchester Collaborative Theater presents vocalist Alexis Cole in her new show Canary in Combat Boots: Memoir of a Jazz Diva in the Army featuring accomplished musicians Jim Ridl on piano and David Finck on bass. Cole’s one woman show reflects her unique perspective as she went through Army Basic Training in 2009. Equal parts harrowing and humorous, she hurls herself headlong into an entirely foreign experience and culture, and reports back to her fans weekly through handwritten notes from the front lines. We glimpse into those notes and see her struggle to survive.

Theater O’s The Camp of Witchcraft and Wizardry

The Camp of Witchcraft and Wizardry will return in July 2019! Housed on the beautiful Bethany Arts Community Campus in Ossining, NY, The Camp is open to muggles ages 8-14. Staffed by Theater O, the camp explores the magical world through theater, art, music, puppetry, storytelling, games and more. It is for fans of The Boy Who Lived as well as all things fantastical and magical! Campers are sorted into houses, participate in a House Cup Competition complete with Tri-Wizard Challenges in the Forbidden Forest, daily quidditch matches (and, of course, a Quidditch Cup!) all with an artistic bent. This creative program will run for four weeks and campers can attend one, two, three or all four weeks. 10% off each additional week and a 10% off sibling discount. Don’t let this adventure get away!

Theater O’s Fairy Tale Theater Camp
What:
Fairy Tale Theater Camp, brand new this year, is for 3- to 5-year-old youngsters with big imaginations. This is a camp where beloved books will come alive. Each week will focus on a different children’s author (Eric Carle, Mo Willems and Maurice Sendak) with a different book each day. Campers will create crafts, learn songs and participate in movement exercises that tie in with the book of the day and they will act out a story written by the week’s author, making full use of the extensive Theater O costume and prop collection. This camp is all about make-believe, telling stories and using our bodies, voices and imaginations! This original program will run for three weeks, Monday through Friday from 9am to 12noon at Theater O. Campers can attend one, two or all three weeks. Early bird pricing before April 1st.

August Show Camp is open to school-aged children who want to be in a production! This one-week camp is all about the play Alice in Wonderland. Everyone who attends the camp will be in the show! There are no auditions, casting will be determined by the artistic director before camp begins. Located at Bethany Arts Community, inside and outside time will focus on rehearsals, theater classes, arts and crafts. Performances of Alice in Wonderland will be held at BAC on August 23 and 24.
