National Day of Prayer

The theme for the 2023 National Day of Prayer Service is Pray Fervently in Righteousness and Avail Much and is based on the verse from James 5:16b which states: “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Operation Transformation, along with Blue Water Area Churches, is sponsoring a time of prayer for people to come together and corporately pray. The service is free and open to all. We're having a Community National Day of Prayer Service from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on May 4th at the McMorran Plaza in Port Huron. Tune in to 90.7 Hope FM to listen live. Various community leaders will be leading times of prayer for specific areas and the New Life Christian Academy Choir will be singing.

Thursday, May 4, 2023 has been established by the United States Congress as the National Day of Prayer. This first Thursday in May is set aside to remember our spiritual heritage and the foundation our country was built upon. Tens of thousands of prayer events are planned across the country. In churches, parks and on courthouse steps, citizens will be praying for our nation, government leaders, media, military, schools, churches, businesses and families.

The National Day of Prayer was established as an annual event in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. The observance of the National Day of Prayer is founded on the constitutional rights of freedom of speech and freedom of religion. All Americans are encouraged to gather publicly to worship and pray for our land.

Praying for our Schools

Hopefully you’ve seen some of these signs around town! Over 200 of them have been sold so far and we have more to get out into the community! They are $5 and if you’d like to grab one, swing by our office (1904 Poplar, Port Huron) or reach out to us by email (reply) and we’ll make sure you get it! All the funds raised goes directly back to the Blue Water Area Churches, and what a blessing it will be for the schools in our community!
