We look forward to this time of year. One of the reasons is the beautiful music that abounds! The classics come out with power – like Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus. And nothing beats a soprano solo of “O Holy Night”. Many churches offer cantatas – or musical programs of the Christmas story. It never gets old.
Many of the new songs also touch the heart in a way nothing else can. Various styles, or even instruments share a message that spoken word cannot. Take some time this Christmas season to listen to some great Christmas music. It could be at a service, on a CD, television special or taking the time to make music in your own way. God created music that expresses emotions like joy, thanksgiving, awe, worship, gratitude. Don’t let the busyness of the season detract from allowing time in your schedule to let the Christmas music fill your heart again with the simple story of God’s love. The angels chorus that first Christmas eve still speaks to us today. May we have ears to hear!
See below for a list of some of the musicals going on in our community.
