St. Clair County Health Department Announces Changes to COVID-19 Testing Process
Effective December 1, 2021, the St. Clair County Health Department’s (SCCHD) COVID-19 testing process will change. Clients will now retrieve their own nasal swab collection kit and consent form from an outdoor cabinet located at the front of the building. Signage is posted and instructional videos are available on the website and social media. This new process will allow for more testing appointments each day and shorter wait times for results.
The St. Clair County Health Department is located at 3415 28th Street, Port Huron. Testing is available Mondays 10:30am- 6:00pm and Tuesday through Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm. Appointments can be self-scheduled on the health department website, www.scchealth.co or by calling (810) 987-5300.
Testing helps public health officials identify COVID-19 infection in the community, isolate positive cases and find close contacts for follow-up monitoring. Some people with COVID-19 do not have symptoms and don’t know they have it. They can continue spreading the virus and can cause serious illness in others.
