St. Clair County Health Department Announces Changes to COVID-19 Testing Process
Effective December 1, 2021, the St. Clair County Health Department’s (SCCHD) COVID-19 testing process will change. Clients will now retrieve their own nasal swab collection kit and consent form from an outdoor cabinet located at the front of the building. Signage is posted and instructional videos are available on the website and social media. This new process will allow for more testing appointments each day and shorter wait times for results.
The St. Clair County Health Department is located at 3415 28th Street, Port Huron. Testing is available Mondays 10:30am- 6:00pm and Tuesday through Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm. Appointments can be self-scheduled on the health department website, www.scchealth.co or by calling (810) 987-5300.
Testing helps public health officials identify COVID-19 infection in the community, isolate positive cases and find close contacts for follow-up monitoring. Some people with COVID-19 do not have symptoms and don’t know they have it. They can continue spreading the virus and can cause serious illness in others.
SCCHD testing information:
·         Free/No out of pocket costs
  • Dependent on an individual’s needs, multiple testing methods are available
  • Seek testing if you are sick or have been exposed
  • All ages welcome
  • No doctor’s order needed
  • Please bring a form of ID to the appointment
  • Other testing locations are also available throughout the county.
Email COVID-19 questions to covid19@stclaircounty.org or call the informational hotline (810) 966-4163. Visit the website www.scchealth.co and follow us on social media @scchdmi.

Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, let’s go….
  1. I currently have 19 MYOI youth that need donors for the Christmas season. These youth are enrolled in the savings/banking program, attend MYOI events, are between the ages of 14-22 and have also exited out of foster care. Some of them have children, are in school/college, live independently, are working, etc. Their foster care cases are closed, so they are not eligible for the DHHS Christmas Program for foster children. If you are interested in signing up to buy gifts for a youth, please email me. I will then send you the link to the SignUp website that will show you which youth still need donors and gift ideas for each youth. Our goal is to provide at least $100 in gifts or gift cards for each youth. If $100 is more than you are able to contribute, please email me and I can team you up with another donor.
  1. I am also looking to collect FIFTY $25 gift cards in order to provide all the open case youth who are currently enrolled and participating in MYOI a gift card this Christmas. If this option interests you, then please email me.
All gifts and gift cards are due to me by 12/13. Arrangements will be made individually with each donor for how to get the gifts and gift cards to me for distribution to the youth.
