Eligibility Groups for COVID-19 Vaccination Expands
St. Clair County Health Department Encourages Residents to Pre-register
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) announced the following changes to the priority groups now eligible for vaccination effective beginning:
· March 8, caregiver family members and guardians who care for children with special health care needs.
· March 22, any individual age 50 and older
Dr. Annette Mercatante, Medical Health Officer stated “Expanding vaccine eligibility allows us to continue to make progress in our goal of vaccinating the majority of our population as quickly as possible. Despite limited supply, about 15% of St. Clair County’s population has been vaccinated with one or more doses, and close to 35% of those over age 65.”
As vaccine supplies allow, the St. Clair County Health Department (SCCHD) will continue to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments for all eligible individuals. Adults over the age of 65 will continue to be prioritized.
The SCCHD encourages all interested individuals living or working in St. Clair County to pre-register at www.scchealth.co; click on the “Pre-registration for COVID-19 Vaccine” link.
Eligible individuals are encouraged to register at any location offering vaccine. If an appointment is not received through the health department, please do one of the following so your name can be removed:
· Decline the appointment when you contacted; or
· Sign-in on the registration system and delete your profile; or
