Hope

We want to briefly make you aware of an organization that helps in time of crisis. It is Spero Pregnancy Center, a faith-based organization located on Griswold & 7th Street in Port Huron. This Center operates to help women and men, who find themselves with an unplanned pregnancy. They provide pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, counseling, clothing, baby supplies and classes.

But most of all, they offer emotional support to women and men who often feel alone, scared and desperate. Staffed by caring volunteers, Spero is a wonderful organization who provides this outreach to those in need because of their core belief that life begins at conception. God has created each person with an eternal destiny and every life has worth and value. Abortion is not the answer to an unexpected pregnancy, no matter what the circumstances are. If you, or someone you know, needs their services, please call them at 985-4673!

Eligibility Groups for COVID-19 Vaccination Expands
St. Clair County Health Department Encourages Residents to Pre-register

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) announced the following changes to the priority groups now eligible for vaccination effective beginning:
·         March 1, food processing and agricultural workers (further defined here).
·         March 8, individuals age 50 and older with medical conditions or disabilities
·         March 8, caregiver family members and guardians who care for children with special health care needs.
·         March 22, any individual age 50 and older

Dr. Annette Mercatante, Medical Health Officer stated “Expanding vaccine eligibility allows us to continue to make progress in our goal of vaccinating the majority of our population as quickly as possible. Despite limited supply, about 15% of St. Clair County’s population has been vaccinated with one or more doses, and close to 35% of those over age 65.”

As vaccine supplies allow, the St. Clair County Health Department (SCCHD) will continue to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments for all eligible individuals. Adults over the age of 65 will continue to be prioritized.

The SCCHD encourages all interested individuals living or working in St. Clair County to pre-register at www.scchealth.co; click on the “Pre-registration for COVID-19 Vaccine” link.

Eligible individuals are encouraged to register at any location offering vaccine. If an appointment is not received through the health department, please do one of the following so your name can be removed:
·         Decline the appointment when you contacted; or
·         Sign-in on the registration system and delete your profile; or
·         Email [email protected] or call (810) 966-4163

This is a rapidly evolving situation. Email questions regarding COVID-19 to [email protected] or call the informational hotline (810) 966-4163. Visit the website www.scchealth.co and follow us on social media @scchdmi.
