Pastor Appreciation Month
October is designated as “Pastor Appreciation” month. This is our annual opportunity to encourage people to provide special recognition to those men and women who give so unselfishly of themselves to minister to the needs of their congregations. The work is never done. There is always another phone call to make, another visit, another meeting, another crisis, and continual planning. Ministers feel a tremendous burden for the people in their church. They do not just work on Sunday!
Take a moment this month to write a note, make a telephone call, drop off a dessert, or offer to babysit, to let your minister know how much you appreciate them. Better yet, recognize them at a church service, take a special offering, or give a gift certificate. Be creative – but let your minister know they are loved and appreciated. Your gratitude will be its’ own reward. It will make their day – and month!
