October is designated as “Clergy Appreciation” month. This is our annual opportunity to encourage people to provide special recognition to those men and women who give so unselfishly of themselves to minister to the needs of their congregations. We know very well how rewarding, yet time-consuming and personally draining it can be. The work is never done. There is always another phone call to make, another visit, another meeting, another crisis, and continual planning. Ministers feel a tremendous burden for the people in their church. They do not just work on Sunday!

Take a moment this month to write a note, make a telephone call, drop off a dessert, or offer to babysit, to let your minister know how much you appreciate them. Better yet, recognize them at a church service, take a special offering, or give a gift certificate. Be creative – but let your minister know they are loved and appreciated. Your gratitude will be its’ own reward. It will make their day – and month!

Derek Elles has trying to raffle off his car to raise funds for another. The vehicle is a 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis. It was garage kept and has less than 70K original miles. It is powder blue with a blue canvas top and blue leather interior. It also has a rubberized undercoating and ceramic finish.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by calling 810-712-6495. Raffle will be October 25, 2020 at noon. We need to sell 50 tickets.
