Labor Day kicks it off. The ability to work is a gift and responsibility. That is part of our purpose – to provide for ourselves and families. We are given distinct gifts, talents, and capabilities by God to do this. On this day, we recognize everyone who works so hard to make our communities operate smoothly. From teachers, to laborers, to business people, no one is more valuable than another. Thank you to all who are faithful to do their job!

We also want to remember the children – and adults – going back to school. This is a time of excitement, stress and adjustment for students and families. Drivers, be careful when driving behind school buses. Parents, be sensitive to emotions and fears of your children. Teachers, be prepared to treat each student uniquely. All of us, realize how important education is to individuals and our society.

Let’s pray that God will give strength, peace and clear thinking to all involved!
