Day of Giving Update

Just after we sent out this email last week someone reached out to use with another $5,000 match, so we now have $10,000 in matching funds!!! With $10,000 now in matches we decided we should increase our goal to $20,000 to be raised on March 21st . Don't forget to stop by our Open House that day from 9-3 and enjoy some refreshments.

There is a grant opportunity available for 501(c)3's that 1) has a realistic fear of being a target of extremism and 2) money can only be used for “target hardening” meaning it will make people safer while at a 501-C3 location. Examples from past applications can include security lighting, bollards, safety glass or doors, video, security access etc. Click here for more details.
New Events
The next Men’s Breakfast at the Lakeshore Presbyterian Church will be held on Saturday, March 9 th  2019 at 9 AM. Our speaker will be George Haynes of the Lake Pilot’s Association. Everyone is invited to attend, including all Ladies. The church is located at 5235 Lakeshore Road in Fort Gratiot. That is on the West side of Lakeshore Road about ½ miles north of Walmart and Meijer’s . Breakfast is by a free will offering. For further information contact Tom Drake at 810-385-9037.

The next Christian Open Mic Night will be held at the Westminster Church of Port Huron on Tuesday, March 12 th  at 6:30 PM. The church is located at 2501 Stone Street in Port Huron, MI. Those wishing to participate should be there prior to the start. For more information contact Phil or Marsha Larson at 810-385-5147 or Tom Drake at 810-385-9037. Refreshments and Fellowship follow the program.

A WEEKEND WITH GOD AND OTHER CHRISTIANS: each of us has experienced a time when we feel the need to "recharge our spiritual batteries." The Michigan Presyterian Pilgrimage (for all Christians - not just Presbyterians) presents a great opportunity to do just that. Enjoy the fellowship of other "pilgrims" as the Pilgrimage Team crafts a unique experience filled with the Holy Spirit that will elave you refreshed and inspired. The next Pilgrimage weekend is April 11-14 (Thursday night through Sunday) at our beautiful new site, Echo Grove Conference Center in Leonard (40 miles north of Detroit). Hillside Fish Fry - Friday, March 8 - 5-7 p.m. Hillside Wesleyan Church, 5114 North River Road, Clyde, MI 48049. Adults - $9, Children under 12 - $5.Proceeds benefit our food packing event which provides 20,000 meals to schools and ministries in Nicaragua. "Come and eat so kids get fed!" Widowed Care is a support group for those who have lost a spouse through death. It is a group for processing grief in a supportive environment. It is held at Colonial Woods Missionary Church on Mondays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm and running for 10 sessions beginning March 11, 2019. To register or for more information, please call the Counseling Center at 810-984-5575.
Christian Disability group - Anyone with disabilities, their family members and area Church leaders are encourage to attend. They will be meeting at Center of Port Huron, Corner of 7 th  St and Wall, at 11am Wednesday, March 13 th. For more information contact Bob at 385 5357.
