This year as our Make a Difference Day we'll be coming together as a community to beautify the 900 blocks of Howard and Pine Streets. Registration begins June 8th at 8:30 am. Various shifts are available from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, or you can help all day. Volunteers must be 18 or order. Lunch will be provided at Port Huron First United Methodist Church. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

100 volunteers are needed for this day. Please register to help, and encourage your friends to do so also.

Registration open for St. Clair County Community College youth summer camps
 
St. Clair County Community College is offering a variety of athletics and arts camps this summer for youth in grades 4 through 12.
 
Athletic camps take place in the SC4 Fieldhouse, except for softball camps at North River Road Park and baseball camps at Sanborn Park. Fostering Futures Scholarship Application Period Now Open - The Michigan Department of Treasury is accepting applications for its Fostering Futures Scholarship program. Michigan Education Trust Director Robin Lott tells WSJM News program was set up as a way to help young people who have been in the foster care system get a college education. She says only 10% of the kids who went through foster care after their 13th birthday makes it to college even though most want to go. Come join us for our special speaker Jeff Stoner. Jeff is a person in long-term recovery who has been working for St Clair County (SCC) Community Mental Health since 2011 as a Michigan Certified Peer Support Specialist, Community Health Worker, and Peer Recovery Coach. He also has his own business providing recovery-oriented educational services to inmates at the SCC Intervention & Detention Center (Jail) since 2009. He has served on the board of two local nonprofits which focused on substance abuse treatment, and currently serves on the Region 10 Substance Use Disorder Oversight Board, and the Opioid Epidemic Treatment Subcommittee of the SCC Community Services Coordinating Body.
Historic Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will be having their "Annual Women's Day" on Sunday, May 19, 2019. The morning Worship Service and Pastor Sandra Woodyard of St. Paul AME Church will be speaking at 11:00 am, 1st Lady Rev. Deborah Miller of Restoration Christian Community Church will be speaking at 4:00 pm. The theme this year is Women of God - Walking in the Light, with the scripture being Matthew 5:16. Our  HOME PLATE 2019  date will be  Saturday, June 8 . Our program will begin at 12:30 PM. The game time is at 4:10 PM. The Tigers have scheduled an  On-The-Field Baseball Clinic  (between the program and game) on the day of our event. The ticket price is $34.00 per ticket (includes game ticket, program ticket, souvenirs, $5.00 meal coupon, and access to on-the-field baseball clinic).
