Happy Independence Day!

Happy 244th Birthday, America! We'd like to reflect on the freedom that we have and the price that was paid. While we like to commemorate July 4 th with fireworks, fun events,  and a day off, it is very sobering to remember the cost that was paid for our freedom. Lives were given, families devastated, countries destroyed. Scars remain today, not only physical, but mental, emotional and spiritual as well. We need to remember and appreciate the sacrifices made by so many, for us all.

There was also a price paid for our spiritual freedom from sin and eternal death. Jesus Christ gave his life willingly to redeem us from a life of bondage and despair. We can live above the muck and mire if we admit our inability to save ourselves and look to Him to set us free and give us new life.
