Why Should You
Support Your Library?

When you support Sedona Public Library, you give to the whole community and help us meet the community's goals. How do we know our community's goals? We asked! It's what great libraries do: We Find the Answers. You can learn more about the questions we asked, the answers you provided, and the plan we created. Read The Next Chapter, and learn all about it.
Featured Donor:
LSTA (Library Services & Technology Act)

This long-time and important library funder is often taken for granted, but we want to give them a shout out because their support has helped us tremendously over the years. According to Janet “Jaime” Ball, Library Development Administrator, the "Arizona State Library is committed to supporting Arizona libraries in their efforts to provide excellent services for their communities."

This is exactly what Sedona Public Library does, and here are a few of the excellent services we have provided with LSTA funding: our recent Community Needs Assessment; Read Around Sedona; STEAM programs for youth; and numerous technology improvements. Jamie noted that, "Federal funds, through the Institute of Museum and Library Services, can enhance innovative and traditional library resources for all Arizonans." Thank you, LSTA, for all you do nationally, and right here at home in Sedona, Arizona!
Frequently Asked Giving Questions

Can a donor direct a planned gift to the Library? Yes! Whether it's a Required Minimum Distribution, Donor Advised Fund, naming us in your will, or making us a beneficiary of an insurance policy, there are many ways to use your planned gifts to support the Library!

Is Sedona Public Library a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization? Yes! While it's not a common model for a library, we received our designation in 1964. Approximately ninety percent of public libraries are under municipal oversite. But we are an independent and private organization that serves as a public library, and we have done so for over 60 years. Our EIN is 86-6052627. If you have more questions, please reach out to Anne Marie.
Your Gift Gives Back!

CARES Act extends provisions for charitable donations in 2021! If you are itemizing deductions, the adjusted gross income (AGI) limit for cash to qualifying public charities (like Sedona Public Library) remains increased for individual donors. For cash contributions made in 2021, you can still elect to deduct up to 100 percent of your AGI! And if you're NOT itemizing? No worries! The CARES Act allows for an additional "above-the-line" deduction for charitable gifts made in cash of up to $300 for individuals or $600 for joint filers in 2021. We Put Your Support to Good Use!

Read all about it in Check It Out: Fall 2021 Annual Report. It's important to all of us at the Library to let you know that we appreciate your support and to give you a glimpse at the many services and programs your gifts make possible. This issue of our bi-annual magazine is our way of saying Thank You! We also answer your questions regarding who supports us and how we use those funds. You'll find it all here!
The best to you and yours for 2022!
We hope the upcoming year keeps you healthy, safe, and busy with a long reading list. Cheers!
