Conducting Research?

Students engaged in undergraduate research/scholarship activities and creative works are eligible to become Research Scholars regardless of funding source or formal program affiliation.

University of Arizona 
The Summer Undergraduate 
Internship Program (SUIP)

APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 1st, 2017

The Biosphere 2 REU provides 10 undergraduates an opportunity to conduct guided research in environmental and Earth systems science at a leading and unique research institution. Students will receive stipends of $5,000 for the 10-week research internship, housing on the Biosphere 2 campus, $500 to cover travel costs to and from Tucson, AZ and a food allowance.  Program runs from June 5 to August 11.

Summer Institute in Biostatistics (SIBS)

APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 6th, 2017

Attention all mathematics, statistics, and science students seeking a summer opportunity!

The Summer Institute in Biostatistics (SIBS) offers a comprehensive six to seven week summer training course on biostatistics with relevant examples that include data collected in studies of heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders. 

The NHLBI supports six SIBS programs f or the upcoming session of 2017

Research Grant
This grant offers funding to student research projects that include a well-developed hypothesis, experiment or method, and proposed impact on community. Projects from all fields of study will be judged equally; this grant often funds research projects in the fields of science, engineering, psychology, and communications.
 
Creative Exploration Grant
This grant offers funding to student projects that display innovation and creativity while furthering the student's technique and knowledge in the field of study.  All students are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to students studying the arts such as projects on art, humanities, architecture, or history.

Student Travel Awards for Research (STAR)

 STAR grants are designed to support student travel to professional conferences to present original research findings. These travel awards are intended to supplement  rather than replace other sources of student travel support at USD.
