 ….but those who hope in the LORD

will renew their strength;

they will fly up on wings like eagles;

they will run and not be tired;

they will walk and not be weary.

Isaiah 40:31

Greetings!

Thank you for the photos and videos you sent me, documenting your time outdoors noticing creation. Thanks be to God, the one who accompanies us on every walk.

I pray renewal and joy for you in this season.

Pastor Sherrie

We have a chance to walk to help end hunger!

The Annual Marion/Cedar Rapids CROP Walk is a 5k walk that will take place Sunday, October 9th starting at 1:30 on the Marion trails. The Walk begins at Thomas Park.

This is the 50th year of the local CROP Walk, and this is an opportunity for us to join together to do something significant, and to have fun doing it.

From the website: “CROP Hunger Walks are community-based walk fundraising events held in cities and towns across the United States, created to support the global mission of Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. After a CROP Hunger Walk ends, 25% of the funds raised is returned to the host community to support local hunger fighting efforts.”

If you are interested, please email Pastor Jonathan Heifner ([email protected]) and he will share more details.

Fall Church Grounds Clean-up Day:

Schedule Change!

Due to the continuing efforts of volunteers since the church clean-up day was originally announced, Saturday morning should be ample time to complete the Fall tasks. Let’s plan on meeting at 9:00 am and finishing by noon on Saturday, October 15th.

We will focus on (1) the backyard of Ray’s house – trash and vine removal; (2) edging sidewalks and curbs; (3) transplanting hosta to the 3rd Ave. flower bed.

All are welcome. Please RSVP to RSVP request to Dave Mather or Shelby Roth

Taize Worship

Youth and adults are invited to the Gathering Space on October 19th, 6:45-7:15 pm, for a Taize (pronounced: tay-zay) service. This will be a simple time of meditative reflection through music and prayer. This grounding and peaceful time will be offered by St. Paul’s members.

Join Mondays, at Noon in the Sanctuary for about 15 minutes of guided prayer time. All prayers welcome, especially for our community, church, and world. After we finish, anyone who wants to walk together outside can. And, any who want to go get lunch instead can. Please let Pastor Sherrie know if you would like to join from your home and we will consider offering a weekly Facebook LIVE event.
