OUUC News

Rooted in Love - Nurture all we love at OUUC

OUUC’s “Rooted in Love - Nurture all we love at OUUC” stewardship drive is off to a great start! This is the time of the year when we make financial pledges to support this community for the fiscal year starting in July. It takes all of us to support the staff, programs, building, and grounds of our congregation.

So far, we’ve had 106 pledges for a total of $383,446. We stand at 52% of our goal! More than halfway there, folks! Let's start off the new month and the return of sunlight with a strong showing this week.

Pledge packets were mailed out to friends and members in early February. If you didn't receive one - or you did and maybe misplaced it - no worries! If your pledge packet hasn’t reached you yet, we’ll be in the commons with more copies after each service, and you can find all of the packet materials plus additional info including next year’s budget on the web by clicking here.

You’ll also find "Pledge Here" buttons on the web that will take you directly to where you can enter a pledge electronically.

Questions? Reach out to Kirsten Hill or Jen Sabel.

The following people are the latest to pledge:

Judith Anderegg & David Pelto, Lorraine Barton-Haas, Kedo Baye, Linden Bentley & David Addicott, Marlene Black, Patricia Brand Gellrich, Pamela Buickel, Penny Chatfield, Debra Dohrmann & Peter Van Oot, John Eliasson & Maggie Post, James Forest, Jean & Tom Hayden, Helen Henry, Kimberly Howard, Jacob & Karen Jackson, Bob & Bonnie Jacobs, Anne Kohlbry, Leah Kosik, Maureen (Mo) Lally, Jim Lengenfelder & Emily Ray, Maria Loverme, Mary McCann, Susan Moon & Sam Starr, Elizabeth Mooney, Carol & John Murphy, Zoë Myers, Trink Newman, Martha Nicoloff, Charles Pailthorp, Holly Porter, Nancy and Clark Reid-McKee, Judy Robertson, Ann Rockway, Deb Ross, Connie Sakrison, Linda Selsor & Charlie O'Neill, Josie Solseng, Ian & Julie Stephan, John & Cheryl Tafejian, Judy Talley, Curtis & Wendy Tanner, Frank & Pam Turner, Anne Van Sweringen, Linda Whitcher, Carol Williams, Gary & Sandra Worthington.

These pledges were so generously offered and so gratefully received.

Spring Forward & Pajama Day!

Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, March 8. Don't forget to set your clocks forward Saturday night! Since we're all losing an hour of sleep, come to Sunday service in your favorite pajamas. We'll spring forward together in comfort!

Staff Away at OUUC

Rev. Sara Lewis will out of office and unavailable next Monday on March 9, 2026.

Plastics Challenge

The Environmental Action Team (EAT) wishes to thank everyone who has been bringing in plastics for recycling. Only clean, dry and stretchy plastics can be accepted (e.g. ziplocks, food wrappers, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, bubble wrap, plastic mailers). Make sure you check bags for crumbs, etc. before putting them in the boxes at the church. This makes sorting easier and less items need to be trashed. We’re thankful that plastic film can be converted to useful products and not clog our waste streams. Thanks again for your efforts in recycling plastic film.
