Our teachers received a historic raise. We are seeing an incredible amount of infrastructure development. Road and bridge construction is underway at an unprecedented rate and multiple interstate natural gas pipelines are being developed, which will help grow our state’s gas industry and the jobs it provides.
Gov. Jim Justice is leading the charge with President Donald Trump to assure mining and power plant jobs are retained in West Virginia. The Trump-Justice Plan will ensure the safety of America’s power grid while helping grow our economy here at home.

Construction for new 264-bed dorm on WVU Tech's campus to begin within next few weeks
In Fall 2019, a set of WVU Tech students will be the first to live in a new, built from the ground up, residence hall with amenities current students requested would make their experience at Tech a better place.
The West Virginia University Board of Governors officially authorized Friday for the University to enter into a lease and development agreement for new student housing on WVU Tech's campus.

Shell plant gets football-field-sized tower delivered by barge
Shell Pennsylvania has moved a football-field-long, 1,800-ton tower integral to its Beaver County ethane cracker from Texas to the Potter Township site in the past few weeks.
The Quench Tower, as it’s called, is a critical step in the key work that will be done at the facility when it’s up and running early next decade. The tower is where the ethylene stream is cooled by water. It was shipped from overseas to the Port of Houston and then shipped by barge up the Mississippi and Ohio rivers to Beaver County, where a specially made dock along the Ohio straddling the site disembarked the tower on its side.

JSW Could Invest In ‘Ridiculously Exciting’ Plan With a Possible Total of $500M
The restart of the electric arc furnace could be joined by a second furnace and a total investment of $500 million in rebuilding the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. mill in Mingo Junction.
Officials of JSW Steel, a leading Indian steelmaker, announced their plans and signed certificates Thursday with Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross during the SelectUSA Investment Summit at National Harbor, Maryland, across the Potomac River from Washington.
JSW initially will spend $250 million to restart the electric arc furnace and refurbish the hot strip mill and slab caster.
If market conditions support it, a second phase would include another $250 million investment for a second EAF and additional hot strip mill equipment, pending the outcome of feasibility studies and permit approvals, the steelmaker said.

Marshall County Must Put Work Back Out For Bid
Ongoing oil and gas work was the reason contractors gave for not submitting bids for proposed work at two Marshall County facilities.
During Tuesday’s meeting of the Marshall County Commission, county administrator Betsy Frohnapfel said renovation work to the Veterans Plaza — on the northeast side of the courthouse lawn — and the Marshall County Animal Shelter was not successfully bid out. Frohnapfel said one bid meeting had one attendee while the other was attended by two.
Frohnapfel said the contractors who responded advised that they were currently tied up with oil and gas work, and that the county would put the projects back out to bid in two or three months.
