This month, our focus shines brightly on the dynamic world of women in business and trade. The stories we share, the challenges we overcome, and the successes we achieve shape not only our personal paths but also the global economic landscape. It has been a pleasure witnessing firsthand the power of collaboration, innovation, and determination that women bring to the forefront of international trade.
As OWIT International, we are committed to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while fostering international trade. This month, we collectively, “take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts (SDG 13)”. OWIT International’s global teams participated in the World Trade Organization’s (WTO), 2023 Public Forum. The thematic topics covered by OWIT International at the WTO Public Forum were: “Catalysing Green Trade: Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs Shaping Sustainable Policies” by OWIT UK and “Transnational Climate Change Litigation and its implications on Trade” presented by OWIT Brussels.
Let us use this opportunity to celebrate the triumphs, highlight the potential, and amplify the voices of women in the business and trade realm. Together, we'll continue to break barriers, shatter glass ceilings, and pave the way for a future where women's contributions are not just recognized, but celebrated.
Here's to a month of inspiration and empowerment as we continue to lead with resilience and grace.
Warm regards,
Frida Owinga
