One noteworthy achievement has been the significant increase in the number of African chapters within OWIT, driven in no small part by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). This landmark agreement has opened up new avenues for international trade and has allowed us to strengthen our presence on the African continent.
Our European chapters have also made their mark by actively participating in the World Trade Organization (WTO) discussions, contributing to shaping international trade policies. Moreover, our anchor partners, the U.S. Department of Commerce and International Trade Center (ITC), has been an unwavering source of support, facilitating opportunities both in the United States and Africa.
These achievements underscore the power of our global community and the impact we can make when we come together to further our mission of advancing women in business and fostering international trade.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, let us remember that together, we achieve more. As the African proverb goes, "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together." Let us continue to go far together in pursuit of our noble goals.
Wishing you all a joyous and reflective Thanksgiving season.
Sincerely,
Frida Owinga
