OYUnited joins Bank of America Student Leaders at their 2018 Student Leadership Summit!
On July 9, 2018, members of the OYUnited National Council of Young Leaders (NCYL) spoke for the second year in a row on a plenary panel at the Bank of America’s annual Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC. It was facilitated by Nicole Hurd, CEO of College Advising Corps, a sponsoring organization of OYUnited. The focus was on what inspired them to become community leaders, what obstacles they overcame, and what successes they have achieved collectively through OYU. Jarrett Jones (City Year), Teresa Rivera (Public Allies), Ramean Clowney (Philadelphia Youth Network), and Francisco Garcia (Public Allies) were the NCYL members on the panel.

OYUnited Onboards 7 New OYUnited Community Leaders at the 2018 Public Allies National Leadership Institute!
On August 2,  OYUnited NCYL members Shawnice Jackson (Public Allies), Francisco Garcia (Public Allies), Kimberly Pham (Aspen Institute), and Ryan Dalton (At-Large Member), and Dorothy Stoneman (Senior Advisor) all gathered in New Orleans for the 2018 National Leadership Institute, hosted by Public Allies. The convening was a gathering of Public Allies staff, board members, and leaders from across the nation. OYUnited NCYL members participated in the 3-day event. Francisco and Shawnice spoke on a plenary panel, and then we spent a full day onboarding 7 new amazing Community Leaders from the Public Allies national network, appointed through a careful selection process by Public Allies. There are now 31 national OYUnited Community Leaders contributing their leadership passion and skills to the OYUnited national movement, complementing the leadership role of the long-standing NCYL members.
