This week we officially celebrate National Teacher Appreciation!
THANK YOU to our highly professional teachers & staff as the 2020-2021 school year has been so very unique with its wide variety of challenges and opportunities. Despite this, our Oak Ridge faculty & staff have navigated them all with great success! Together we ensure the success of our students so if you know of a teacher, or Oak Ridge staff member, that in your opinion has done an exceptional job this year, please take a quick minute to send them an email. It would mean a great deal during this special week - ORHS faculty & staff email addresses. HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION!
Finally, this Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day across America. Importantly, this day provides us with an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to our mothers. The support, guidance, direction and love from our mothers is why we are who we are. On behalf of the Oak Ridge administrative team Happy Mother's Day to all of our mothers, aunties, grandmothers, sisters, and other important female figures that have been there for our Pioneers - especially during what has been an extraordinary school year. You all deserve a standing round of applause and we thank you for your many wonderful efforts.

In Pioneer Pride,

Ms. Bellinger
Proud Principal

Reminder: College-bound Pioneers should remember to consider all options carefully before taking on student debt. Please be sure you have your FAFSA and Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA/Bright Futures) paperwork completed. The FFAA application must be submitted prior to high school graduation in order to be considered for eligibility. While student loans have their place, we hope our Pioneers will take advantage of all the financial aid/scholarship opportunities available to them before accumulating debt which might hamper other life plans after college graduation. Please contact the ORHS College & Career Resource Center with college financial aid questions.

Friday's Motivational Moment!
We close this week with a few inspirational thoughts for our Pioneers just ahead of Mother's Day this coming Sunday:

Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother.
~ Oprah Winfrey, philanthropist, author

Behind all your stories is always your mother's story, because hers is where yours begins.
~ Mitch Albom, author

A mother is someone who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.
~ Unknown author

There is only one pretty child in the world, and every mother has it.
~ Chinese Proverb

All that I am, or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.
