The Pioneer Express!
Your Community Brief from Oak Ridge High School
Friday, December 20, 2019

Today is our final school day of 2019. This is also the end of both the 2nd quarter and the 1st semester of the 2019-2020 school year. All Orange County Public Schools are closed from Monday, December 23, 2019 through Friday, January 3, 2020. The teachers will return on Monday, January 6, 2020 (teacher workday/student holiday). However, classes will not resume for students until Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

With this last issue of The Pioneer Express for 2019, we take a moment to celebrate several of our special seasonal events and to recognize our Pioneers that stepped forward just before their winter break to help others enjoy a wonderful holiday season. I think you will enjoy some of the following highlights.

If you are traveling out on the roadways over the winter break, please drive carefully and always remember to buckle up. On behalf of the administration of Oak Ridge High School, the very best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful holiday season. I will see everyone back on campus Tuesday, January 7, 2020 for a successful on-time start to the 3rd quarter!

The HHS partnered up with the "Hospital de Peluches de Venezuela" and collected stuffed animals for children and elders. These stuffed animals will be given to children and elders in hospitals and/or homeless. The picture at the top shows the Spanish Club and HHS collection of around 200 stuffed animals.

HHS also participated in the "Una Escuela Limpia" activity. We had 15 students cleaning different school areas in an effort to help our custodians.
