2025 Gala and Auction

Everything but the Chickens

Thank you to Oakcrest Alumnae Association Leadership Team member, Tara (Hill '11) Van Zoeren for organizing this year's Alumnae Gala Basket. The theme was Farmer's Market, "Everything but the Chickens", and included fresh eggs from Tara's chickens! With the help of our alumnae Class Captains, the Oakcrest Alumnae Association basket was able to raise $425 this year!

Thank you to all of our alumnae who attended the 2025 Gala and Auction. It was great to see you all!

Meet Our Alumnae

Catalina Scheider- Galiñanes '21

On a frigid day in January, Catalina Schieder Galiñanes ’21 looked out into a crowd of one-hundred thousand pro-life marchers who had gathered together on the National Mall in Washington, DC. As the 2020 national March for Life student speaker, Catalina spoke to fellow marchers on the dignity of all human life, made in God’s image and likeness. Her speech immediately preceded President Trump’s historic address. Leading the March for Life with Oakcrest was an experience that shaped the course of Catalina’s life over the next five years. “I was so blessed to be able to communicate an uplifting, pro-life message on a national stage,” she recalled.

Today, Catalina is a senior at the University of Notre Dame. She will graduate this May 2025 with double majors in Economics and Political Science and a minor in Constitutional Studies. On Notre Dame’s campus, Catalina is an avid writer and an active participant in the political life of the university. A firm believer in living out her convictions, Catalina stated, “I’m passionate about communicating the truth and I have devoted the last four years to becoming a dedicated, outspoken, and effective student leader.”

On the last day of Spring Spirit Week, the entire school participates in projects that serve the surrounding community. Students either do service projects on campus or volunteer at charitable organizations in the Northern Virginia/DC area.

This year, Oakcrest named the annual day of service after alumna and faculty member, Anna Diederich '17. The annual service day will be permanently named the "Anna Diederich Day of Service" and the service day t-shirts will remain red for her signature lipstick and her beloved role as senior dean. A commemorative plaque was blessed by Fr, John Agnew, Oakcrest Chaplain, and will be placed in the glass cabinet by the office of the Head of School.

Cheers to the Class of 2025!

We had a special day to appreciate our beloved senior class on Senior Appreciation Day! While we're all very sad to see them graduate in a couple of months, we're so proud of all that they have and will accomplish!

Alumnae Parents Corner

Thank you for your generosity!

Thank you, to our alumnae parents who were sponsors and attendees at the 2025 Gala and Auction. Your generosity helped us raise over $270,000!

Congratulations to alumnae parents Becky and Pat Cipollone who were recognized at this year's Gala and Auction for their many years supporting Oakcrest's mission. Becky and Pat's youngest daughter Maria is graduating this year and is the 6th Cipollone daughter to attend Oakcrest since 2004. We are grateful for the Cipollone family and look forward to staying close to Becky and Pat as full-time alumnae parents and (hopefully) future Oakie grandparents!

Are you looking to fill a job opening with an Oakcrest alumna?

We'd be happy to post it on our alumnae networking platform, Oakcrest AlumniFire.
