Greetings from

Dear Oakies,
A heartfelt thank you to all of you that helped make our 5th Annual Alumnae Week, not just a successful week, but a fruitful one. Beautiful connections were made throughout the week between our older and younger alumnae, we rallied together to give back to the next generation of Oakies, and our alumnae parents returned to the school to make care packages for their daughters away at college. It truly was a joy-filled week!
I look forward to seeing many of you again soon for the Annual Gala and Auction on April 12 and the Mother-Daughter Mass and Mimosa Brunch on May 17.
May you have a peaceful Lent and a joyful Easter.
With gratitude,
Maritere

Audio Dramas Close to Our Hearts
Kiley (Hatch '19) Lawrence shared that she recently wrote two audio dramas that she hopes the Oakcrest community will enjoy. The Merry Beggars produced her series on St. Josemaría Escriva in June of 2024 and just released a sequel/companion piece about Alvaro del Portillo. Kiley was the script writer for both these projects and is thrilled to share them with the Oakcrest community.

Oakie Sisters Working Together
Sisters, Alydia '20 and Aria '24 Ullman, participated in the Alumnae Week Day of Service in-person event. They worked together to bundle diapers and write thank you notes. The girls did not overlap during their high school years at Oakcrest, so they were thrilled to now be alumnae and to get to participate in alumnae events together.

Alumnae parent and faculty member, Mrs. Jennifer Kilmer (Christina '16, Michelle '18, Julie '19, Rosie '25) announced at the March 26 ComHom that the annual all-school service day will be permanently named the “Anna Diederich Day of Service” in honor of alumna and faculty member, Anna Diederich '17.
"Ms. Anna Deiderich was an alumna who graduated from Oakcrest in 2017 as an Acorn, attending since sixth grade. After college, she returned to Oackrest as a math teacher, Cross Country and Track and Field coach, and a dean for the Senior Class of 2023. Ms. Deiderich passed away in 2023.
Our annual service day will be permanently named the “Anna Diederich Day of Service” to honor her incredible legacy of generosity, joy, and selflessness. Ms. Deiderich truly lived what it means to be a “trustee of humanity”, always putting others first and finding happiness in serving them. She truly exemplified the attributes of our Portrait of a Graduate. In her college paper, A Rule of Life, she wrote, "I am happiest when I am taking care of other people." Naming this day after her is a meaningful tribute to a dear alumna, reminding all of us to serve with the same love and dedication she showed every day. Our service day t-shirts will remain red for Ms. Deidrich’s signature lipstick, and for her beloved role as senior dean. As we wear red, let us carry Ms. Diedrich’s spirit with us. She was a gift to our community, and this will be a beautiful way to carry on her example."
