Greetings from

Maritere (Gramatges '91) Crum

 Alumnae Relations Coordinator

Dear Oakies,

May has been quite a busy month - a new Pope, a historic win for the White Team, Senior Lead Days and pranks, and of course our beautiful annual Alumnae Mother Daughter Mass and Brunch.

On May 17 we welcomed back our alumnae, their daughters, moms and grandmothers for the Alumnae Mother Daughter Brunch. This was also the first alumnae event for the Class of 2025 and their mothers. Be sure to check out the video highlighting the events of the day!

Graduation is just a few weeks away. We look forward to seeing many of you as we celebrate the Class of 2025 - our newest alumnae!

All the best,

Maritere

Meet Our Alumnae

Suzanne “Suzy” (Royden) Rivet ‘07

Suzy (Royden) Rivet ‘07 is leading the way for women and mothers in the construction industry. A graduate of Saint Joseph’s University, Suzy works at Kiewit Corporation in the Project Controls and Finance Department, where she is currently working on the Francis Scott Key Bridge replacement. She and her husband, Dave, live in Colorado and welcomed their first child, Vaughn, in November of 2023.

A trailblazer for women in the construction profession, Suzy expressed gratitude for her Oakcrest education in preparing her for professional life: “Oakcrest also gave me the drive to pursue a career in a male-dominated industry by equipping me with confidence, tools, and perseverance. Throughout my career – whether on construction sites or in formal office settings – I’ve always felt empowered to hold my own,” Suzy stated.

Did You Know?

In November of 2023, Fr. Gerry Kolf, former Oakcrest Chaplain, wrote an original prayer dedicated to our alumnae. The prayer was printed on prayer cards featuring the Our Lady of Oakcrest statue on the front and was a gift mailed to all of our alumnae on their birthday from December 2023-November 2024. The prayer was printed in a larger, frameable format and given out at our alumnae in attendance at the 2024 and 2025 Alumnae Mother Daughter Mass and Brunch. The members of the Board of Trustees recite this prayer daily for all of our alumnae.

Oakies on Campus

Habemus Papam: Oakcrest Welcomes Pope Leo XIV!

Joy and excitement rang throughout the whole school as Oakcrest welcomed the election of the newly appointed Pope Leo XVI! As soon as white smoke appeared, students were invited to watch and wait for the announcement of the new pope and the whole school celebrated upon meeting the first American Pope and the new leader of our Church!

Dinosaurs overran Oakcrest!

On their last day of classes, the seniors had some fun turning the school into their own jungle.

Congratulations, Seniors!

Seniors completed their last day of classes, participated in two LEAD Days with speakers and workshops preparing them for their next steps, and opened their senior thesis presentations. Seniors presented their superb academic work with poise, articulation, and Oakie pride. Thesis presentations will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday of the upcoming week.

This past week the Board of Directors shared Oakcrest's next strategic plan with our community. Click below to learn details about the plan as we work together to support Oakcrest's beautiful mission.
