December 17, 2020
Dear Oakies,

First, I’d like to extend a big thank you to all of you who graciously gave back to our alma mater this Giving Tuesday. We set a goal of $2600 (the match amount donated by the OAA Board), and we surpassed it thanks to all of you and your generosity! The Class of 1991 is currently in the lead with the highest percentage of class participation, however, there is still time to help your class increase their participation numbers. More donations have been coming in since Giving Tuesday as you will see in our updated graphics, and so we have decided to keep the challenge going until the end of the year! If you weren’t able to make a donation on Giving Tuesday, no need to worry, you still have time. You may do so now by clicking here. All alumnae donations truly matter (and count); no gift is too small! Don’t forget to check out next month’s issue of OakLink where we will acknowledge the winning class!

Thank you also to all the alumnae and daughters of alumnae that joined us for this year’s Christmas Book Exchange. It proved to be a beautiful morning on campus filled with reminiscing, hot chocolate, Christmas books and crafts. No matter what year or which campus we graduated from, we are all Oakies and it shows each time we get together! It especially warms my heart to see all of the young girls together, knowing that they share an unspoken bond because their mamas are Oakies and they too will be Oakies one day! I look forward to many more alumnae events in 2021!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Christmas Book
Exchange Fun!
We had a lot of fun at our Alumnae Christmas Book Exchange! Five alumnae and their six daughters joined us. We had hot chocolate, reminisced about our time at Oakcrest, made ornaments, exchanged Christmas books, and each took home a delicious Christmas cookie. All of this took place on the school grounds, on what proved to be a beautiful November afternoon. We even had a fire pit going to keep us warm!
