Dear Oakies,

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is already here? In this issue of Oaklink, I encourage you to check out what our fellow Oakies have been up to both abroad and at home. Also, don't miss this month's Then and Now as we highlight the evolution of the Oakcrest Library. Could you ever have imagined the Oakcrest Show would be broadcast virtually? Well, it was, and two daughters of alumnae were in it! We are so proud of our current Oakies living up to the old adage “The show must go on!”

The OAA Board wishes you a very Blessed Thanksgiving and we hope to see you at our Christmas Book Exchange on November 28th. All Alumnae are invited, and your daughters are invited to join the fun too!

Happy Thanksgiving!

OAKIES AROUND THE WORLD!
Grace Ferguson ('18) and Edith Barvick ('19) are enjoying Rome.
Recent Graduates Study in Rome
Grace Ferguson ('18) and Edith Barvick ('19) are enjoying a semester in Rome! Grace says, "I'm currently on the University of Dallas Rome campus doing my semester abroad! UD is one of only two American study abroad programs in Italy this semester due to COVID complications. We have lots of COVID-prevention measures in place, but it still is, and will be an amazing semester! Oakcrest is in my prayers! Edith and I (and the whole Fall Rome class) still can’t believe how blessed and lucky we are to be here. You really can’t beat having class at the Vatican Museums and Monte Cassino or taking field trips to Sicily and Assisi. Italy is our classroom for the semester and we’re so thankful to be spending time here."

Head of School Mary T. Ortiz and Director of College Counseling Miranda Johnson informed the students of their impressive achievement on September 28. Giving Tuesday, December 1

Oakcrest has succeeded this fall in safely opening for in-person classes. Our Alma Mater knows the value of in-person learning and they have taken every precaution to ensure the health and safety of students and staff. Oakcrest has found the recipe to achieve success this school year. Your donations this Giving Tuesday will help off-set the unexpected costs that Oakcrest has had to incur in order to continue to provide students with a vibrant environment of education and formation. Our resiliency is something to be proud of! Don’t forget to donate this Giving Tuesday. Alumnae donations truly matter; no gift is too small! You can also support Oakcrest now by clicking here.
