ALAMEDA COUNTY ― Some utility relocation work must be completed before the project construction starts. Caltrans Maintenance crews are engaged in encampment removals on state right of way to facilitate utility work. Caltrans survey personnel are currently establishing control points around the project limits to prepare for construction staking. Once we have a construction schedule, we will schedule 2 hybrid information meetings, one in Alameda and one in Oakland to communicate project details. When construction begins, we will provide via email a weekly construction update on the status of the project. Construction is projected to begin early 2026.
Addressing the rumors:
We have no information on a bike bridge project proposed to be completed by 12/31/2025, not a part of OAAP project.
No information on having partnered with an air taxi service (Joby Aviation) to help people get to Oakland and San Francisco.
