Upcoming ORA Events   

 

In the upcoming months, the Oakland Restaurant Association will be hosting a wide range of open houses, round tables, and educational seminars. These events are open to current and potential members, and are a great way to learn more about the ORA while receiving valuable training and networking connections. Some of these events are coming soon, so we have take the liberty of highlighting them in red

OAKLAND RESTAURANT ROUND TABLES

Restaurant Round Tables are an opportunity for restaurateurs to discuss topics that pertain to challenges and successes they are experiencing in running their businesses.

 

The next Round Table will take place on Thursday, April 28th from 2:00-3:30pm at Levende East - 827 Washington Street. The event is free to attend, but requires an RSVP.

Please note: attendance at Round Tables is restricted to restaurant owners and managers - vendors and service providers are welcome to join us at an open house!

ORA "OPEN HOUSES"

ORA Open Houses are designed to introduce the Oakland Restaurant Association to prospective members. You will have the opportunity meet fellow restaurateurs, explore cost-saving programs offered by affiliated vendor members, and learn about the benefits of becoming a member.

 

The next Open House will take place on Thursday, April 21 from 2:30-3:30pm at Pican Restaurant - 2295 Broadway. The event is free to attend, but requires an RSVP.

TRAINING AND EDUCATION CLASSES

Relevant classes (including federally-mandated classes such as Food Safety) are made available free or at reduced rates for ORA members and their employees. Class schedules and availability will be updated regularly.

 

Currently scheduled classes include:

 

ServeSafe Food Protection Manager Certification  

Required by state and federal & available to our members and affiliates at reduced rates! Five upcoming event certification starting as early as May 19th. Learn more

 

Basic Employment Law

A free class for restaurant managers and owners covering topics specific to restaurants such as wage/hour laws, break penalty procedures and more! First seminar scheduled for April 25th. Learn more

 

Sexual Harassment  

This free training is designed to qualify for the state mandated employer harassment training and is designated for senior managers of restaurants and food service companies. The first seminar is scheduled for May 5th. Learn more.
