Mexico Pledges to Cut Emissions 25% in Climate-Change Milestone
Mexico has become the first developing nation to formally promise to cut its global-warming pollution, a potential milestone in efforts to reach a worldwide agreement on tackling climate change. Mexico expects greenhouse-gas emissions to peak by 2026 and then decline, Environment Minister Juan Jose Guerra Abud said at a news conference in Mexico City Friday. SABIC is looking for an EHS Manager. The Site Safety Leader will have overall responsibilities for managing the Safety and Industrial Hygiene programs of our 450+ employee site while working closely with a dynamic EHS&S team. Reporting to the EHS&S Manager, the Site Safety/IH Leader will lead a small staff of professionals in the area of safety, industrial hygiene and emergency response. You will serve as the technical resource for safety and industrial hygiene and be asked to ensure safety compliance with applicable OSHA and Corporate expectations. You will also participate in and lead committees, incident investigations, process hazard analysis, job safety analysis, risk assessments and other EH&S activities. BS in EHS/Engineering discipline or equivalent education and work experience along with a minimum 5 years' experience in Safety Engineering/Management and Industrial Hygiene in a manufacturing environment is required. Experience with OSHA VPP and PSM a plus.
BNSF Railway Co.; Fort Worth, Texas
The Director of Environmental Engineering and Operations oversees BNSF's wastewater treatment operations, SCADA and data historian systems, environmental infrastructure and upgrades, and manages the $10+ million environmental capital program. The position reports to the General Director of Environmental Operations, manages two full-time direct Engineers, and has operational oversight of BNSF's North American wastewater treatment plant network/operators. The position is located at BNSF's Headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. Under direction of the General Director, the Director of Environmental Engineering and Operations is responsible for the overall compliant operation of BNSF's environmental infrastructure, including wastewater treatment operations, across BNSF's network spanning 28 states and 3 Canadian Provinces. S/he is also responsible for assuring the safe and effective operations of 18 wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), 123 oil water separator systems and 8 wastewater lagoons, to include troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective action and performing feasibility and water balance studies for storm water and wastewater minimization and/or re-use; evaluates and selects treatment processes with a specific focus on implementing innovative and cost effective treatment solutions. Bachelor's degree in Civil (preferred), Environmental or Industrial Engineering, with at least 10 years of experience in engineering design/program management. Experience in water and wastewater treatment systems operations and management in the transportation (preferred), municipal or industrial markets is a plus. Advanced degree preferred with a combination of credentials (e.g., P.E. registration), experience, and professional association involvement, which sets the candidate apart from the average engineer.

The HSE Safety Advisor will provide onsite technical field safety at our Shell Technology Center at Westhollow (STCH). You will be asked to assist in managing the Incident Notification, Classification, Investigation and Reporting practices at STCH and will be tasked with providing guidance to managers & supervisors in proper Classification of incidents per Company and OSHA guidelines and assisting in decision making on the recordability of Site incidents and the OSHA Log. Bachelors degree in a Safety related field OR a Bachelors degree with relevant safety certifications, such as ASP or CSP along with a 5+ years of direct operational health and safety experience at O&G, industrial, construction, or Military sites a must. ASP/CSP other certification is highly preferred. Contractor HSE Management, project management, and organizational effectiveness experience a plus.

The Health, Safety, Environmental Manager (HSE) has the responsibility to plan, coordinate, direct and execute the Health, Safety and Environmental systems for the company; providing guidance and support in the following areas: safety, environmental and hazardous materials, transportation compliance, risk management, safety training, management and global standards. This position is responsible for the continuous operation and improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental Policy, ensuring corporate initiatives are understood and implemented. The HSE Manager works closely with the leadership team to build a culture of safety. Responsibilities include facilitating HSE goals and rally operational teams to improve HSE performance and leading proactive hazard identification, risk assessment, and job safety analysis. Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering or Health and Safety or related field along with a minimum of 6 years experience is required. Competency with OHSAS 18001\ISO 14001 required. CSP preferred.
