Obedience Amid Opposition

Greetings Ministry Partners,

Last month's new class began with Book 1, Bible Study Methods and Rules of Interpretation. The third step of the three basic steps for Bible study is “Apply the Text” (obeying). This reminds us that the main purpose of Bible study is to apply what we have learned, and obeying is the most important action for Christ’s followers. As the Lord said, “Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”

As we know, there is a crisis in the world today, and the country we are serving in is not welcoming to Christians. As a result, this has made it more difficult for us to carry out our ministry. Despite opposition from those who are trying to stop us, most of our team and students have chosen to obey the Lord’s Word rather than follow human authority.

Currently, the class with 21 students from three provinces in the southern region has been divided into three smaller classes for security reasons. These classes continue to meet every month in different areas.

On October 28, a new class started in central Laos with 17 students. I taught the class from October 28 to November 1. (Photos above) I also taught the T-Net class from October 14-18. (Photo below)

In northwest Laos, two classes have now been split into three classes and are continuing with Book 3.

In the northern provinces, two classes are studying Book 3. A Hmong class is pictured above.

Our team also visited and shared the Word at two house churches.

Staff Update

• Pastor K organized and opened a new class with 17 students. His wife, who has been very sick, could only visit a few churches.
• Pastor O will gather all three classes and move them to his house to study Book 4 this November.
• Pastor X taught Book 3 at his own church.
• Pastor S visited classes and plans to conduct a God's Financial Principles (GFP) seminar in the northwest.
• I was a co-teacher for T-net, teaching some sessions on Book 6. I also taught Book 1 to the new class for a week. On that Sunday before the class started, I was invited to preach at a church where the pastor is a CCI alumni, and I promoted CCI.

“Praise the Lord! I am Pastor O. Last year, I was invited to attend the CCI Global Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The sharing and teaching from the CCI team leaders were incredibly motivating. After returning home, I decided to take Teacher Training Workshop (TTW) training and began recruiting pastors and church leaders.

Now, we have three classes with 21 students across three provinces. When I teach using the CCI lessons, many of my students say that the material is very helpful for their lives and ministries. I’ve found it beneficial as well. While teaching, I am learning too. CCI has become well-known throughout the provinces, and many people are interested in studying with us. However, we are facing opposition from the LEC, which has ordered us to stop. We are now seeking a safe place to meet. I am determined not to stop these classes and plan to complete them by the end of 2025. Afterward, I intend to open four more classes across three southern provinces."
