Discover New Business in Obion County

Obion County has recently welcomed many new businesses. We've had recent ribbon cuttings at Mi Burro Taco Truck, Peppy's Car Wash, Cricket Wireless, Karma Beauty Bar, and Sugarcoated. These small businesses among others are making a huge impact on not only Obion County, but the northwest Tennessee region.

New Building Owners Bringing Big Ideas & Business to Downtown Union City

Jennifer Cagle and Greg Sturgeon to the downtown community. They have just purchased the old Morgan-Verhine Clothing Store, located at 210-212 S. First Street. Cagle is the business owner of Deep South Boutique, which will move into the building after the new year and Sturgeon is the Vice President of Automation at Vaughn Electric Company.


Cagle and Sturgeon have big plans for this building, including renovating and restoring it to its historical charm.

Free Training for Small Business Owners through

Retail Strategies

The Obion County Joint Economic Development Corporation is investing in the small business community by providing training and coaching resources to small business owners through a new partnership with Retail Strategies. Made possible by the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development’s (TNECD) TN Placemakers grant, the partnership will fulfill the Placemakers vision of supporting and training small businesses by providing access to education, resources, and tools directly to future and existing small businesses and entrepreneurs.
