Obituary for Dr. Hameed Peracha

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Hameed Peracha, a beloved physician and esteemed alumnus of Dow Medical College, who left us on the morning of 14th October, 2024 at the age of 71.

Dr. Peracha graduated from Dow Medical College and then completed his specialization in ophthalmology. Dr. Peracha helped thousands of patients to get excellent healthcare over the period of his career.

Dr. Peracha was an active community volunteer with his work for both medical and non medical charity projects. Dr. Peracha's contributions also involved many charity projects in Pakistan such as the Kohi Goth Hospital in Karachi.

He dedicated his life to APPNA and was involved in many APPNA activities including being Chair of APPNA Convention 2014 in Washington DC.

Dr. Peracha continued his voluntary work during his illness and chaired the Food Committee at our recently held annual convention 2024 in Washington DC.

A loving father and husband, he is survived by his wife and son.

He will be remembered for his kindness and dedication to the APPNA mission.

We will miss Dr. Hameed Peracha!
