Obituary - Dr. Zaheer Ahmad, Founding President of APPNA

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون

It is with deep sorrow APPNA family shares the sad news of the demise of the founding president of APPNA Dr. Zaheer Ahmad, a beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and esteemed physician, on March 23, 2025, at the age of 88.

Dr Zaheer Ahmad was born in India and then migrated to Pakistan after partition when he was 10 years old. He graduated from King Edward Medical College. He pursued further medical training in England and thereafter moved to Detroit Michigan.

A dedicated philanthropist, physician and community leader. He and his wife (late) Musarrat Ahmad were able to bring likeminded Pakistani physicians under one umbrella and APPNA was born in 1977. He was a great visionary who started APPNA from which generations of Pakistani American physicians continue to benefit.

APPNA family mourns the loss of Dr Zaheer Ahmad, husband of Farhat Ahmad and (late) Musarrat Ahmad, beloved father of Tabassum, Amjad, and Ajmal Ahmad, Uncle of Iftikhar Ahmad and sends out heartfelt condolences and prayers in this difficult time.

May Allah rest his soul in peace and grant him the highest place in heaven.
