Calflora's Observation Search shows plant observations at a particular location. Click on this icon to see an Observation Search video .

For instance, you may type in an observer's name to see their observations in Calflora or search by other criteria . You may also set up an email alert under TOOLS to be notified when more observations of a specific species or plant list are published in your area of interest.

You may also draw a polygon around an area or use Map Layers to specify your area of interest. Sort your columns in the results table by clicking on the name of the column, e.g. Plant. Add more columns to your query results by customizing your column set .

Drill down by clicking on the observation; you can also assign colored icons to the various plants .
"What I love about Observation Search is that I can see all the individual observations in my area of interest and across boundaries or jurisdictions. I can scan through who saw it, see their thumbnail photos, which county. It's so powerful!" Ron Vanderhoff
Find " LAYERS " above every Calflora map. Turn on California Protected Area layer, or CPAD, and note that the pastel areas are all protected. Click on one to search for species in that area.

Press the toggle in the upper right to see the map in full screen mode. Try other layers e.g., ecoregions, watersheds, or Jepson regions.
